What it Feels Like to be Told A New Sibling is Coming

ME:  Maddie, you have school tomorrow. What are you gonna learn about?

MADDIE: Nothing, I am going to fart and play.

ME: That’s my girl.

“You’re raising that kid all wrong!”

Anyway…ever think how a child feels when told about a new sibling on the way?

Here’s how it is in adult-world:

I do not want Maddie to feel like that guy on the couch. Poor guy. So, one and done for now.

Special Thanks to Us and Them blog for posting the video.

So are you dropping a hint that you guys are expecting?

how funny. see that’s why you’re supposed to have triplets then they don’t know any better. 🙂

I agree. If we had triplets or twins that would have been cool. But nature gave us one. One tornado that reminds us daily to stick with one. 🙂

  3. I just want to know what she did with his balls 😀

  4. She keeps them in a box.

We waited in each case to have our next child until our previous one was begging us to have a baby because they wanted a little brother or sister. Funny how that doesn’t happen in a marriage. My wife isn’t begging me to get another… 🙂

Speaking of triplets: our daughter was very bummed that she wasn’t a twin. For years she wanted a twin sister. Then she met a little boy who is exactly her own age almost down to the hour. He looks a lot like her. He likes the same things she likes. His family is much like ours. Now she has her twin. They write letters back and forth weekly or so. It’s great. Twins by different mothers. 🙂 They haven’t set a wedding date yet.

That wedding date will be here sooner that we both want to admit. Pretty cool that she found her twin! Hopefully they will be lifelong friends.

My daughter has not been asking for another and no plans are in the works (far as I know) for another down here.
