Skiing

Laurie and I took Thursday February 4th off from work and hit the slopes. Not literally mind you, we both can shred it. I use two skiis like normal people, she straps her feet to a piece of plywood and throws herself down the mountain. Wierd, I know.

We went skiing at Mt. Peter in Warwick, NY.  A small slope with 4 runs and three lifts. Perfect for a day trip. I really loved this place. The employees were happy to be employed and genuinely helpful.  Laurie mentioned that she forgot chapstick and even though there retail shop was not open for another hour, he opened it up and grabbed some chapstick for her. (Well done young man). The two guys at the rental counter were funny and extrememly helpful.

The place was empty! There was only about 30 people in total. My kind of crowd.

12 Noon Laurie ready to hit the slopes. She don't need no stinkin' googles.

Look out for the pole!

12: 30- Laurie on the lift.

Laurie all alone at the bottom of the slope.

Whole mountain to ourselves

All in all it was a great day. I highly recommend taking a random Thursday off from work and hitting the slopes, or do whatever it is you love to do.

Looks like great fun! I know I’m sleep-deprived with 3 kids and all, but you said you went skiing on 2/11. Isn’t that this coming Thursday? Did I take hibernol and sleep through an entire week? 🙂

Yeah we needed it. Even thought we only have one child, we have zero help-we’re all alone up here. It was our choice of course, but sometimes just need a break as I am sure you have experienced.
That is why when people say:” Oh Maddie needs a playmate” My response is :” Sure, pay us 900 a month for daycare and we’ll pump out another one…or are you volunteering to be a free of charge live in Nanny?” 🙂
