Bar Build 026

You may have noticed that the days are getting shorter and the nights are forever without you. I am a big John Ford Coley fan, you’ll have to forgive me.

With almost no daylight left by the time I get home, Bar Build is now once again front and center. What is left to do you ask? We’ll come on along I’ll take you to a Lullabuy on Broadway. (Sorry).

Here is what I am begging for now:

For 'da Jukebox

For 'da Jukebox

Free beer coupled with the ability to listen to any song that has ever been recorded just by touching a screen is a testament to the times we live in. This touch screen monitor has been added to my Christmas WishList.

Plenty of chances left for me to injure myself:

  1. Floor in bathroom to be torn up
  2. Floor in hallway to be torn up
  3. Wood floor needs to be put down
  4. Footrail installed on bar
  5. Rocks need to go up on the walls
  6. Walls need to go up for rocks.
  7. Finish wainscotting
  8. In-ceiling speakers need to be bought and installed
  9. Said speakers need to have their wires run
  10. Computer converted to jukebox
  11. Stereo Receiver installed into the wall
  12. Wires run to receiver
  13. TV hung on the wall
  14. Outlet installed for said TV
  15. Direct TV run to said TV
  16. Nintendo Wii installed to said TV
  17. Pellet Stove moved right 4 feet
  18. L-shaped bench to be built
  19. Ceiling installed
  20. Walls painted (color suggestions?)
  21. Pictures hung
  22. Plan party

I’m exhausted just from reading your “to do “list.

Pick 3 from list and complete before you move on. Won’t seem sooo over whelming

My plan of attack is to do each project as time / money allows. Currently saving for wood floors and a trip to lumber liquidators is in the works. But while the money is socked away, I work on the wainscotting or the wiring. Or the sanding. Or the pictures…etc.

I see you decided on wood floors, your mom’s right that’s a crazy list of To Do’s but with no light after 5 you should be very busy….or tired, when you get home from work…either way.

May I suggest doing the flooring as one of the last things, so it doesn’t get damanged, I’m speaking from experience.

If I come out for Pop-Pop’s memorial on 10/24, I”d like to come up and see your place.

Thanks for the suggestion! I kind of have to do the floor first because it effects (affects?) so many things. Height of the height of the stools, height of the foot bar, height of the bench. Primarily the floor needs to go down before the stove is moved because that effects where the chimney is installed…Alot of things need that “base” to be built upon.
No fear, after it goes down, there will either cardboard put down over it or maybe something stronger like those mover’s matts. Mucho appreciato the concern tho! 🙂

Yeah would love for you to see the bar in progress. I bet you would have great suggestions when you actually see the space live and in person!
