while a wood floor looks so nice, it could be a bear to clean (think of all those drunks), spillage, and scuffs.

the cobblestone – no because the chairs will be uneven when you sit and moving the chairs in-out could be problematic that they don’t move easily get caught on the unevenness.

now the colored concrete, VERY easy to clean, wipe up any mess, inexpensive, and you can change it/paint it anytime. plus you could paint some cool Dublin street signs, or pub signs, or any brand name on them. or a cool color and design like red over by the darts, and blue by the wii area, another color by the bar all separated by a cool black line. your possiblities are endless!

Personally I like the look of the wood for the bar, very warm and inviting and classy, but painted concrete is practical.

however think of all those sliding sock races you can have with wood.

another thing to keep in mind, who will most likely be going to your bar and what do they like. what would you and Laurie like.

Now you see th dillemma! I agree with you about the cobblestone and moving the chairs in and out. One would have to de-seat just to adjust the distance, or just change positions, than re seat. Plus the cobblestone will wear down the bottom tips of the chairs. Laurie wants wood floors-she thinks the stained concrete looks cheap. I am agreeing with her and you-very warm, inviting and classy. Wood floors are easy enough to clean, and can take a beer spill or two or three. Plus sock races on concrete? No fun.
